Some members of staff you see might not be wearing a uniform, however all staff are required to wear their identification badge which proves they work for QE Gateshead and shows their name, job title and department in which they work. You can ask to see the identification badge of any member of staff you may come into contact with.
For your safety, we use closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the hospital buildings and grounds and our security staff monitor these cameras closely. There are no CCTV cameras in areas where patients receive treatment.
Any person who is violent, threatening or abusive will be removed from the premises and may be subject to police prosecution
The Trust operates a complete no-smoking policy, therefore smoking is not allowed in any part of the hospital or grounds. For more information on local services to help you give up smoking, call the NHS Smoking Helpline FREE on 0800 169 0 169. If you require advice on giving up smoking during your visit in hospital, please notify nursing staff.
