The little orange book - expert advice when your children are ill

The little orange book is focused on acute illness in young children and helps parents and carers to recognise and then respond appropriately to a range of diseases, illness and conditions as well as signposting parents to the most appropriate service or clinician should they need further support. You can obtain a copy of The Little Orange Book from your GP practice or download it using the link below.

An NHS smartphone app to look after your child's health

If you prefer to get information on your smartphone the NHS in the North East has developed an excellent new tool. Parents and carers can now find NHS advice at their fingertips to help look after their children’s health. ‘Looking after your child’s health.’ is an important NHS guide for parents and carers of children aged 0-5 years.

The app gives easy to understand guidance on childhood illnesses, recognising when your child is unwell, and advice on when and where to seek further treatment.
