Community Challenging Behaviour Team

This service supports staff and carers who look after older people with complex needs and associated behaviour which challenges.

Challenging behaviours are things that people do that we find hard to understand or deal with; we find them ‘challenging’. These behaviours are about the person with dementia trying to communicate their needs, which they can’t do in more appropriate ways.

One of the overriding principles of this service is the belief that people with dementia often communicate any distress, fear, pain, anger, frustration or unmet need through their behaviour.
