Children's outpatients

All our consultants have general paediatric clinics and appointments are usually available within two to three weeks following a referral by a GP.

All children and young people attending the out-patient department will have their height and weight measured.

Other tests may be carried out during their appointment, for example urine, blood pressure or blood tests. by the health care assistant. We ask that you bring your child in plenty of time to ensure they can have this important part of their assessment before they see the doctor or specialist nurse.

As well as general clinics a number of specialist clinics are held in Children’s Outpatients:

Allergies Dr Mannikar, Dr Reid, and specialist nurses

Bowel management Dr Dale

Chronic fatigue syndrome Dr Dale supported by clinical psychologists

Diabetes Dr Saranga

Eating disorders Dr Dale and paediatric dietitians

Eczema Dr Reid and specialist nurse

Epilepsy and related conditions Dr Saberine

Looked after children Dr Dawson, Dr Hari-Krishnan, and Dr Rehan

We also have additional service which are community multidisciplinary based clinics including: diabetes transition to adult care, autistic spectrum disorders assessments, child development team and feeding clinics.
