Environmental Aids

We work closely with social services, who can help you access environmental aids and offer further advice such as information on 'access to work'.

Environmental aids can include:

Telephone amplifiers, TV, loud/flashing smoke alarms and door bells, alert pager systems, baby monitors, pillow vibrators and more.

The service is run by Gateshead Council and is aimed at providing equipment free of charge to assist deaf or hearing impaired people in their homes.

A Sensory Support Worker can assess your needs and discuss what equipment they may be able to offer to help improve any difficult situations you encounter around at home that arise as a consequence of your hearing impairment.

Contact Sean Golden, Sensory Support Worker on: 0191 433 7033 / 07860 781832 or visit www.actiononhearingloss.org.uk/shop for more information.
