Operations

I perform primary and revision (re-do) hip and knee replacement surgery. I also deal with soft tissue knee problems including meniscal and ACL injuries. I have a keen interest in trauma management and perform various trauma related procedures including complex periarticular and periprosthetic fracture fixation of lower limb.

Clinics

I consult patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Washington Primary Care Centre. Ask your GP for a referral, if you would like to be seen in my clinic.

Qualifications

MBBS, MRCS, MS, EBOT, FRCS (Tr and Orth)

Training

I did my basic and higher surgical training in the North East England. I completed the prestigious Cavendish Lower Limb arthroplasty fellowship in Sheffield, UK followed by an AO Trauma Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA. 

I have been awarded the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) travelling fellowship (Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto), British Association of Surgeons of Knee (BASK) fellowship (New Delhi) and the Charnley Latta Travelling Scholarship (ENDO-Klinik, Hamburg).

Other responsibilities

I have interest in teaching for medical students and surgical trainees.  I teach on several regional and national courses for trainees.  I am a faculty at the royal college of surgeons run knee arthroscopy and fracture fixation courses. I also teach at FRCS (Orth) exam preparation courses.

Publications

I have several publications and international presentations.  I have presented at international meetings such as American Academy, British Orthopaedic Association and various other subspecialty conferences. I have about 20 publications and several book chapters.
