Gateshead staff to host a charity fundraiser for health and wellbeing

Staff at Gateshead Health are hosting a charity fundraising event in October to raise money for the health and wellbeing fund at the Trust.

Staff at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust are hosting a charity fundraising event in October to raise money for the health and wellbeing fund at the Trust.

The fundraising event will be held at Stormont Main in Wrekenton on 1st October 2022 and will include a DJ, bongo bingo, a disco, a raffle and an auction.

Money raised from the event will go towards investing in the Health and Wellbeing group, dedicated to the staff at Gateshead Health through the ongoing pressures.

Fior Sayer, trainee surgical advanced clinical practitioner at Gateshead has organised the event with the help from Katy Maughan, community nurse practitioner and Leanne Walton, ward sister.

Fior Sayer said, “We are extremely looking forward to this event taking place later in the year. We have already received a huge response from staff buying tickets to businesses donating raffle prizes.

“This will be a celebratory night for Gateshead Health staff who have had a tough couple of years since the pandemic and we hope that the money raised will help invest further into the health and wellbeing of our colleagues.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped us so far. We may be a small Trust but we have very supportive staff who look out and support each other and I can’t wait to see what we achieve at this fundraising event.”

Clare Drummond, QE Charitable Funds Manager said, “I would like to say a special thank you to Fior and her team who have been instrumental in supporting their colleagues during what has been the most difficult challenge our staff has ever faced.

Fior and her team have worked extremely hard organising multiple fundraising events raising much needed funds for our Staff Health and Wellbeing Charitable Fund and I know this event will be hugely successful and will benefit so many of our staff across Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust”.

“We are still actively looking for donations, whether you can donate prizes for our raffle or cash donations towards our health and wellbeing fund. Any donations, no matter how big or small will make a huge difference. I am looking forward to seeing how much the fundraising event raises and what Fior and her team will do in the future.”

If you would like to donate prizes to the raffle, please email Fior Sayer at [email protected] or you can donate money via JustGiving.
