Launch of cancer podcast series

We’re pleased to announce that we have launched a new podcast series to support our cancer patients as we navigate through the ‘new normal’ brought about by the global pandemic.

Listen to the cancer podcasts

Patients can expect to find advice on issues surrounding lifestyle changes, real-life experiences as well as new research and developments. The episodes feature clinical experts and charitable organisations including cancer clinical nurse specialists, psychologists and palliative care services.

Karen Roberts, deputy director of nursing, midwifery and quality said, “We wanted to find new and innovative ways of reaching out to people through what can be an emotional and anxious time – especially with the recent added complications of COVID-19.

“As the world continues to steer further towards digital media we began to notice the rise in popularity of podcasts. Our cancer nurse specialists have worked hard to deliver these as a way to support our patients digitally.

“With this in mind we worked with people from the clinical sector, charities and those who have personal stories to tell about living through a cancer diagnosis to put this informative podcast series together. Hopefully this series will help those and their families cope with the different challenges a cancer diagnosis can bring.”
