National award win for business intelligence developer at Gateshead Health

Claire Hutchinson, a business intelligence developer at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, has won a national award as software engineer of the year at the Women in Technology Excellence Awards held at the end of November 2022.

Claire designed and developed the Urgent and Emergency dashboards that underpin the hospital site management. Her work has improved patient safety and efficiencies in service delivery at the trust.

Claire Hutchinson said “I’m so surprised and delighted to have won this award which is aimed at inspiring the next generation of females in IT. It is such an honour.”

Nick Black, chief information officer for the trust said: “Claire shows her excellent skills in all areas of her work. She is always proactive in leading others by providing guidance and direction when needed. She is always willing to help her team members find solutions to problems and goes the extra mile.
