ECG/Pulmonary Function

The ECG/Pulmonary Function Department perform tests that are painless and give information on the condition of your heart and lungs

There are a variety of different tests performed by our department. Electrocardiograms (ECGs) are the most common but we can also image your heart with ultrasound  known as an echocardiogram (echo) or see how your heart behaves when exercized by running on a treadmill. Our department also assists with the insertion of pacemakers and loop recorders and we are also involved with monitoring your ECG during angiograms (click here for more information on angiograms) and also transoesophageal echos (click here for more information).
Our department is located on Suite 4 of outpatients, accessible via the main entrance which is nearest to Entrance A when entering the hospital grounds.

The department is open Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4.45pm. Telephone 0191 445 2080 which is a direct number through to the ECG department.
