Ambulatory care

Ambulatory Care is located on the ground floor of the orange zone and is an alternative to admission pending assessment.

Ambulatory Care is a patient-focused urgent care service for certain medical and surgical conditions that can be safely treated without the need for overnight stay but may require subsequent visits to complete treatment.

Many of the patients seen within ambulatory care would have previously received the same treatment as an inpatient. This facility is to aid the flow of patients safely and efficiently to avoid admission.

The aim of the service is to provide treatment within the unit's opening hours which are 8am - 9.00pm seven days a week.

You can contact Ambulatory Care on 0191 445 3482. We are based in the orange zone of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
