Would you like to know more about volunteering opportunities available with Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust?

We are hosting a drop-in session for people seeking to join our team of volunteers, whether you would like essential career experience or the opportunity to give something back to your local community.

Our Volunteer Recruitment Open Day takes place on Tuesday 1 October 2019, between 12 and 5pm, at the QE Hospital’s Education Centre (Rooms 4 and 5)

The event is open to anyone enthusiastic and dedicated enough to join the team with prior experience welcome, but not necessary.

Hospital staff will be available to answer any questions and explain the exciting list of potential roles future volunteers could be involved with.

There are a whole host of opportunities on offer, including meeting and greeting visitors in our Emergency Care Centre, being a porter at the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS), working with mothers and babies in the maternity unit and many more.

Previous volunteers have mentioned the innumerable benefits that volunteering at the QE Gateshead have provided, such as our meet & greet volunteer Pam who says: “I took early retirement as a social worker and I decided I wanted to give something back to the NHS. I love the banter and seeing lots of different people. It’s great feeling useful when people are lost and need your help.  The volunteer team is smashing.”
