Critical Care Christmas Lunch

Posted on Mon, 30/12/2019

Well done to the ICU who held their annual Christmas lunch at Quenellies where patients and families gather together and celebrate the festivities.

With over 70 people, it’s great to see everyone together and celebrate surviving critical illnesses as well as continuing to raise money for ‘ICUsteps Gateshead’, this year the team raised just over £300!

Susie Chrystal, Specialist Nurse Critical Care Rehabilitation in the Critical Care Department said: “This is an annual event to raise money for ‘ICUsteps Gateshead’ a support group for ex-patients and their families and friends.  The group meets every two months at Sheriff Hill Methodist church to give peer support and also arrange some social activities.  We were joined by Des Costello and his wife who have supported the group this year by making generous financial donations through the ‘Felling Irish Association’.”
