QE wins 3 critical care network awards

The Critical Care department at the QE Hospital have been awarded with three awards at the recent North of England Critical Care Network Conference.

North of England Critical Care Network acts as an advisory body to NHS Trusts in the North of England providing them with up to date information enabling them the provide the highest, most up to date care for patients.

The winners from the QE were:

• Team of the Year – Critical Care Rehabilitation Team
• Educational Achiever – Andrea Burnett
• Service Improvement – Joanne Wilkinson for her “Sending patients home to die”

Lesley Durham, Director NoECCN said: ”We are delighted to present these awards to the staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead. The Critical Care staff at the QE are some of our region’s leaders in patient focused service improvements, and these awards are well deserved.”
