Urgent Treatment Centre

Our Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) at QE Gateshead and Blaydon Primary Care Centre are able to treat minor injuries. Please use 111.nhs.uk or call 111 who are able to arrange an appointment to attend either of these services.

Our Urgent Care Centres offer an alternative to A&E for a wide range of minor injuries. For minor illnesses such as coughs and colds, you can obtain advice and over the counter treatments from your local pharmacy.

The Urgent Treatment Centre operates at QE Gateshead 8am – 10pm, 7 days a week and at Blaydon Primary Care Centre 8am – 9pm, 7 days a week.

Due to the covid pandemic, visitors are not currently permitted to accompany patients unless the patient is considered vulnerable or has additional needs.
